Herman “Butch” Walton, 77, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2019, at his home in Orange. Funeral services will be held at 2: 00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeremy Walton.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Voth, Texas, on November 20, 1941, he was the son of Herman Robert Walton and Wanda Mae (Adams) Walton.

Butch proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He later worked for DuPont, Dow Chemical, and Oxychemical as a communication technician. Butch was a dedicated and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City and served on the Finance/Budget Committee, and the Greeting Committee at the church.

He also was on the board for the Water District in Mauriceville. He was an avid servant and a humble man who had the gift of making everyone around him feel comfortable and welcome. Butch enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.

He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Butch will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Wanda Walton; and his son, Brian Alan Walton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia “Pat” Ann Walton of Orange; his children, Angela Walton Rountree of Nederland, Bobbi Hinote and husband Gary of Orange, Robin Klykken and her husband Per of Fernandina Beach, Florida, and Dana Dorsey and husband James of Concan; his grandchildren, Andrea LaFleur, Reverend Beaux Hinote, Reverend Wes Hinote, and Seth Dorsey; his siblings, Carolyn Johnson of Wildwood, and Robert Earl Walton and wife Vicki of Vidor; his 8 great-grandchildren; and his numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Beaux Hinote, Wes Hinote, Seth Dorsey, Greg Choate, Clint Walton, and Kyler Walton. Honorary pallbearer is David Johnson.
