Herman L. Luke September 5, 1935 – May 28, 2019 Herman L. ‘Jolly’ Luke, 83, of Jackson, Mississippi, died Tuesday at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, September 5, 1935 in Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home-Forest, MS.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home-Forest, and burial will follow in the Eastern Cemetery. Bro. Robert Roncali will officiate.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Forest is in charge of arrangements. (601) 469-1941 Herman was a strong believer in Christ and practiced compassion, love, and kindness to everyone he met. He was an avid harmonica musician in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Shirley S. Luke; parents- Lester Luke & Tena Luke; daughter- Teresa Cheramie; step-daughter- Shirley Nell Coburn; brothers- Clinton Luke, Lavelle Luke, & James Luke; sisters – Margaret Shaw, Hattie Shaw, & Patricia Trest. Survivors include children- David Luke, Travis Luke (Bonnie), Bonnie Brinson, & Patricia Brown; step-children- Brenda Lee, Jerry Compton, Edward Compton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings- Sarah Barnett, Wallace Luke, & R.C. Luke (Kathy). Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
