OBITUARY Hilda Pye August 3, 1923 – October 4, 2018 Hilda (Marshall) Pye, 95, of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth following a brief illness. She was the wife of John E. Pye, Sr. with whom she shared 75 years of marriage. Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John M. and Herminia (Ramalhete) Santos, she lived most of her life in Dartmouth.

Mrs. Pye had worked as a stitcher in the local textile industry for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Hilda was very talented at knitting and crocheting. She made sweaters, hats and socks which she gave to family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her son, John E. Pye, Jr. and his wife Diane Sylvia-Pye of East Freetown; two sisters, Dorothy Moniz of Acushnet and Lillian Pacheco of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Jonathan M. Pye and his wife Kelly of Dartmouth, Rebecca L. Pye of New Bedford and Katherine A. Pye and her fiancé Darrell Correia of Acushnet; four great-grandchildren, Maxwell J. Pye, Norah E. Pye, Kenneth J. Pye and Madison R. Webb; two nieces, Cheryl Araujo of Dartmouth and Janice Moniz of Florida; and her nephew, Norman Gunderson of Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her siblings, Evangeline Borges, Stella Gunderson, Helen Ripley, John Santos and George Marshall. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd.

, Dartmouth. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
