Hilma Jean Strode July 18, 1931 – May 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card McMinnville, TN resident and Overton County, TN native Hilma Jean Strode, age 87, was born July 18, 1931 and died May 14, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired factory worker with Great Western, Genesco and Carrier Corporation and a member of Hopewell Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late John Barlow and Mary Armstrong Roberts. She was married to Estie “Jack” Strode who preceded her in death on July 3, 1997.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Sheila Hicks; two brothers, Howard and Dewitt Roberts; and three sisters, Callie B. Buck, Opal Howard and Carrie Roberts. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Audrey Strode of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Jamichael, Jaiden and Jaxsen Strode, and Amber Partee; one great-grandchild, P.J. Partee; two sisters, Mary Phillips Roberts Wester of Cookeville, TN and Ruby Ann Roberts of Cookeville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Christine Grayson, Jeanette Arnold and Loretta Evans all of McMinnville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 in High’s Chapel with Rev.

Eddie Vance, Bishop D.L. Robinson and Scottie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s.
