OBITUARY Hortencia Reyes Vega December 2, 1925 – December 18, 2018 Hortencia Reyes Vega, 93, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico on December 2, 1925. She loved cooking, especially making tamales and tortillas.

Her hobbies included raising canaries or other small birds, playing Loteria, and traveling to Monterrey. She loved all kinds of animals, but especially Lorenzo, her parrot. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed by her last surviving brother, Simon Reyes.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Cornelio Reyes and Guadalupe Palomino, husband, Pedro Vega, Sr., daughter: Trinidad Vega, Son, Rafael Vega, granddaughter Veronica Vega, daughter-in-laws, Mary and Velinda Vega. Her daughters survive her: Evangelina Moncevais (Eddie), Librada Guiterrez (Ben); sons: Feliciano Vega, Jose D. Vega, Rafael N. Vega (Noemie), Raul Vega (Rocio), Pedro Vega, Jr. (Hilda), Cornelio Vega, and Luis Alberto Vega (Rachel), son-in-law (Victor Mendoza); numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, December 21, 2018, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Luis Vega, Eddie Moncevais, Jr., Saul Vega, Raul Vega, Jr., Chano Vega, Jr., and Victor Mendoza, Jr. Honorary Pall Bearer: Luis Rodriguez grandson of Ralph and Mary Vega, son of Veronica Vega Rodriguez.
