Obituary for Howard L. Mathews Print Howard was born to Aggie L. Mathews and Alberta Mathews May 17th,1955 in Chicago Illinois. In his early years Howard attended Alexandre Dumas grammar school and Dunbar High School. In Howard’s early adult years he met and married Debra Hunter.

Through this union a baby girl was born. For years Howard worked for the Cook County Sheriff Eviction Department. Howard enjoyed family, friends, fishing, watching sports, old school music, and barbeques.

On November 2nd, 2018 Howard transitioned into his new beginning. Howard’s love will be in the hearts of his Daughter Tonika Mathews, Step Sons Antwain Gilmore Sr. and James Gilmore, five Grandchildren, Brothers Sam L. Harris (Janet Harris) and Edward L. Mathews, Sisters Shirley Thomas (Jerry Thomas), and Geraldine Mathews-Lathan (John A. Lathan), Nephew John A. Lathan III, a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Special friends Vera and Steve Batton, Charles Allen and Corinne Esco, and The Old Gs.
