Hugh Miller Shepard, Jr., 90, of Avon Park, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 22, 2018 at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center. A native of Hendry County he lived in Florida most of his life moving to this area in 1959. He worked for Walker Memorial Hospital for over 30 years in security and maintenance.

He was a member of Ft. Meade Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is survived by three children, Michael Shepard, Avon Park, Durienda (Michael) Blaney, Maryville, TN and Marcella Shepard, Sebring, FL; brother, Winston Shepard, West Palm, FL; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Avon Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1410 W. Avon Blvd. , Avon Park, FL.
