Hyland’s Obituary Hyland Q Harris, 65, passed away at 3:34 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1953 in Alton, he was the son of Ralph and Gaynor (Barker) Harris.

He retired as a school teacher in the Granite City School district. Survivors include his three children, Jennifer (Steve) Hufford of Buena Vista, CO, Matthew (Missy) Harris and Christopher (Amber) Harris, all of Highland; grandchildren, Nicolas Newberry, Shane Hufford, Nathan and Audrey Harris, Aidan Miller, Aidan Harris and Violet Harris; a sister, Linda (Nancy Barnes) Shoemaker of Granite City; and his mother, Gaynor Harris of Granite City. Services will be private.
