Imagene Dudensing Duncan, 91, of Amarillo, formerly of Munday, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Highland Memorial Cemetery with Dan Offutt officiating. Imagene was born on July 16, 1926 in Old Glory, Texas, the youngest of five children born to Newton and Olga (Hinze) Moore.

She graduated from Old Glory High School at age 16. As World War II was in full swing, she stayed on the farm with her parents… Read More » to help her daddy with the crops and cattle, while her three brothers, a brother in law and her fiance’ Milton Dudensing served in the war. Milton was freed after a 5 month stay in a German Prison Camp and returned safely home to Old Glory, where they married on May 22, 1945.

To this union were born two children, Marva Jean and Dewey. Milton preceded her in death in 1973. At age 38, Imagene applied to the LVN School in Stamford and started her eighteen year career in nursing.

She married R. J. Duncan and they moved to Abilene to continue their careers until she became disabled. At that time, they moved to Mr. Duncan’s hometown of Munday to be close to their children and grandchildren, sharing in the excitement of their grandchildren’s success in High School and College sports. In their retirement years, they enjoyed traveling, fishing and gardening, dancing and remodeling houses.

After his death, she moved back to Abilene to live with her son, and then to Amarillo with her granddaughter, Tammy Foss and a special friend Michelle Lightfoot. Imagene was a member of the Lutheran church. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; a niece and a step son.

Surviving Imagene are children, Dewey Dudensing of Abilene, Marva Jean Biggerstaff and husband Wesley of South Carolina, Shirley Welch and husband Don of Weinert, Becky Offutt and husband Dan of Munday; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
