Imogene Davis, age 90, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born on October 12, 1927 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was the 5th of 12 children born to George and Daisy Jones.

She married and had five children. She was a homemaker and cared for her children for many years, until most of her children were grown. Later as a single mother, she attended Practical Nursing School where she graduated third in her class.

She took much pride in her nursing achievements. … Read More » Later she married the love of her life, Robert Lee Davis on January 28, 1980 in Del City, Oklahoma. Imogene’s hobbies included quilting, bird watching and being a wonderful grandmother.

Her grandchildren’s fondest memories were of her Indian tacos. Her strong faith helped her through many trying times. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Daisy Jones; husband, Robert Lee Davis; siblings, Garland Jones, Velma Lopez, Ann Totten, Alta Parker, Wayne Jones; and grandson, Paul Morris.

Imogene Davis is survived by her children, Susan Barker and husband Darrell, John Morris and wife Michele, Curt Morris and wife Sharon, Mary Beth Garland, and Jennifer Snow and husband Ed; sister, Oleda Newman; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Melvin Jones, Roland Jones, and David Jones. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Tony Palmer, Curtis Morris, John Paul Morris, Patrick Bergeron, Jeriah Orth, Jered Orth, and Leland Palmer.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Nathan Cunningham and Shawn Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw, OK.
