Inez Battifarano Santorello, 86, of West Barnet passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 21, 2018. Born December 20, 1931, she was the daughter of Ernest and Rose (Palazzo) Battifarano. Born in Flushing, Long Island NY, where she attended school and graduated from Newtown High School Class of 1949.

Inez and her older brother Leonard were daily visitors of the 1939 – 1940 New York World’s Fair in their hometown of Flushing NY. On June 11, 1950, Inez married John J Santorello of Flushing NY. Inez worked for: Chemical Bank in Manhattan, as well as Eastman Kodak.

In 1956 the couple moved to Centereach NY, where they raised 5 children. Inez later worked for Wilbur Rodgers and Sears Roebuck on Long Island. In 1979 Inez, separated and later divorced, moved to the family summer home in West Barnet (Mosquitoville) Vermont, where she lived the past 40 years.

Her final employment was at J.C. Penney St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Inez enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, watching the Green Bay Packers and raising her beloved Boston Terriers. Cedar, her final Boston companion, died in December 2017.

Inez is survived by her five children, Geralyn of Virginia, whose loving husband Marty passed away in 2017, John and his wife Valerie of Barre, Vermont, Jeffrey and his wife Beverly of Centereach, New York, James and his wife Karen of Ryegate, Vermont and Jay and his wife Kelli of North Carolina. Inez was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews from Florida, Texas, Washington, Argentina and Italy.

She is predeceased by her parents and brother. Fr. Sebastian will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Wells River, VT on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11AM, interment will follow at West Barnet Cemetery in West Barnet VT.
