Iona E. Kallstrom,90, entered into Heaven February 21, 2019 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, MN. Iona was born on April 11,1928 in Hart Lake Township Laporte, MN to Alfred W and Irene E Kallstrom. She attended Guthrie Grade school and Bemidji High School.

She continued to live with her parents and brother at their farm east of Guthrie. She was the caregiver to her mother for 5 years, after she became paralyzed following cancer surgery until her passing. She never married and took care of her Dad and Brother until their deaths in 1970 and 1983 respectively.

She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew and garden, was an awesome cook and homemaker. She helped take care of her niece and nephews during haying time. Her cookie jar was always full and she prepared the best noon meals for the thrashing crews.

She left the family farm and moved to Wilton in 1992 and worked At Luekens bakery frosting cakes and as a Foster Grandma “cookie lady” at Archdeacon Gilfillan Center and also a Grandma for Solway School until she retired. She lived a life of service to others and will be missed. She was a member of the Guthrie Community Bible Church and had accepted Jesus as her personal savior in 1975.

A quote she loved was “I know who holds the future and I know who holds my hand”. She is survived by a brother A. Stanley Kallstrom Wilton, MN and sister Shirley Christiansen Bemidji MN, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Irene and brother Harold and an infant brother, sister Betty Kallstrom and a recently passed brother Russell and his daughter Kristen.

A memorial service will be held at Guthrie Community Church on Friday, May 17th at 11:00AM with interment at Zion Memorial Cemetery, Hart Lake Township following the service.
