Irene Boutwell Loper April 30, 1921 – May 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church in Collins for Irene Boutwell Loper, 98 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Arrington Living Center. Reverend Rob Webb and Reverend Bob Lytle will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Williamsburg United Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jackie Worthy and Miss Rileigh Mooney.

Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 and from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church in Collins. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Richard Loper, Russell Loper, Brian Lucas, Billy Don Loper, Garrett Loper, and Jonathon Leggett.

Mrs. Loper was born on April 30, 1921 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Loper worked as a poultry inspector for Collinswood and Marshall Durbin Companies for numerous years before her retirement.

She was a devoted member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Mary Rutland Boutwell; her husband, Diamond Loper; two sons, Billy Paul Loper and Billy Ray Loper; three brothers, Walter Boutwell, Dan Boutwell, and Lavelle Boutwell; and four sisters, Maggie Boutwell Ervin, Jewel Boutwell McRaney, Bertha Boutwell White, and Mildred Boutwell Dickens. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Loper Williamson of Seminary; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray “Don” and Barbara Loper of Collins; four grandchildren, Richard Loper (Lisa), Russell Loper, Samantha Loper Lucas, and Erin Williamson Leggett (Jonathon); eight great-grandchildren, Billy Don Loper (Miranda), Brian Lucas, Alyssa Lucas, Garrett Loper, Hailey Mooney, Rileigh Mooney, Dalton Leggett, and Jaycee Leggett; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
