Obituary for Irene Bywater Hamner Mrs. Irene Hamner passed away at her home December 6, 2018 with her son Joey at her bedside. She was suffering from cancer. Irene was 80 years old.

Irene was born in Aurora, Illinois and had five brothers and four sisters. Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Hamner Sr. and two sons, Richard and Charles Kinnear. Irene is survived by one daughter, Leiloni Kinnear, and son Joseph Hamner Jr. and his wife Kadie.

Irene moved to Old Town from Tampa in 1990 and began working at what once was the Bank of Florida in Chiefland. She later worked at Langston’s Insurance and the Dixie County Clerk of Court. Irene loved spending time with her friends and family and working outside around her home.

Plants and birds were some of her favorite things. Irene was an amazing wife, mother and friend who will be missed deeply by many. A memorial service will be held at Rick Gooding’s Funeral Home in Cross City, Florida at 2 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
