Irene M. (Doucette) Schmitt, 96, of Cranston passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Frank P. Schmitt. She was born in West Warwick on July 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Donat and Alice I. (Beliveau) Doucette.

She had previously resided in Coventry for many years. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Schmitt of Cranston; two granddaughters, Rebecca L. Tung of Cranston and Melissa M. Schmitt of Cumberland; a great granddaughter, Annika Tung of Cranston; and two sisters, Alice Plante of Coventry and Trudy Zerschuuren of Massachusetts. She was the mother of the late Frank N. Schmitt.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11 am from the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich.

Visitation will be on Thursday morning in the funeral home from 10-11 am. Relatives and fiends are invited to attend.
