Irma A. Nygaard, age 93 of Litchfield, MN died on Thursday June 21, 2018 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Litchfield Christian Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery. Irma Alene Maher, the daughter of Lyle and Elsie (Spaulding) Maher, was born on September 12, 1924 in Litchfield. She grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School.

On November 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harrold Nygaard. She was a member of the Litchfield Christian Church. Irma enjoyed baking, cooking, reading and traveling.

She is survived by her husband Harold of Litchfield; children Janice (Cordell) Angier of Sun City, AZ, Barb (Bob) Werner of Litchfield, Beverly (Dan) Farley of Sun City, AZ, Judy (Dave) Rittgers of Broken Arrow, OK, Mary (Ron) Mack of Litchfield, Sue (Byron) Nystrom of Long Prairie, JoAnn Olson of Willmar, Bill (Sandi) Nygaard of Litchfield and Jim (Audry) Nygaard of Hutchinson; 21 grandchildren Dan Angier, John Angier, Keith Nothnagel, Shawn Worden, Randy Farley, Todd Rittgers, Timothy Rittgers, Jeff Garding, Gina Garding, Richard Garding, Jason Nystrom, Jennifer, Carrie Arias, Angie Mickelson, Mathew Olson, Kathy Mollet, Joe Nygaard, and Joshua, Jordan and Jacob Nygaard; 38 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandsons Mike Garding, Scott Garding and Theresa Dressel; sister Ella Drange, and brothers Miles, Merle and Marvin Maher.
