Obituary for Irma Jean Gogel Irma Jean (Mehling) Gogel, 77 of Dale, went to be with our Savior on Sunday, December 16th at her home and is now with her son ,Philip and her parents. She bravely battled ovarian cancer for two years. Irma was born January 10, 1941 in Ferdinand to Alois & Leona (Braunecker) Mehling.

She was united in marriage on September 29, 1962 to Eugene “John” Gogel in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. John & Irma were married for 56 years. Irma was a very faithful servant to our Lord her entire life and prided herself on her impeccable cleanliness, housekeeping for many local residences in addition to the bank and post office in Dale.

Irma was from a family of twins, her father was a twin, she was a twin, and had two twin daughters. She was so very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She enjoyed watching IU basketball.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene “John” Gogel, one son Steven (Mary Ann) Gogel of Birchwood, WI. Daughters, Sandra Rasche and Glenda (Brad) Edge both of Evansville, Brenda (Bruce) Ramsey of Kentucky, and Jennifer (Todd) McGehee of Boonville. Nine grandchildren, Benjamin Edge, Emily (Ty) Riffert, Korynne, Kamille, and Klaire Rasche all of Evansville, Lauren Edge of Portland, OR.

, Bryce Ramsey of Kentucky, and Ryan and Nathan McGehee of Boonville. Two great-grandchildren, Trenton Riffert and soon to be sister of Evansville. Three sisters, her identical twin Norma Roos of Dale, Valeria “Bootsie” Schwoeppe of St. Henry, Sue (Terry) Weyer of Troy.

Three brothers, Mike (Linda) Mehling of Ireland, Stan and Ken Mehling both of Ferdinand. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, a son Philip Gogel in 1992, a god-daughter Paula (Lubbehusen) Fulks and a brother, Leander Mehling. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 AM CDT Thursday December 20th in St. Francis Of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Church, Dale.

Visitation from 3 to 7:00 PM CDT Wednesday and from 8 till service time Thursday at St. Joseph Church in Dale. Burial to follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Dale. Memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies 3699 Epworth Road Newburgh, In.
