Isaac Donald-Albert was born in Milwaukee, OR on September 22, 1976 to Gordon and Cynthia Wood. Isaac was the youngest of four, his siblings Tajha (Wood) Isom, Helen (Wood) Fox, and Oscar Wood grew up together in Estacada, OR and later moved to Gresham, OR where they all finished high school. Isaac went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2019 in Prineville, OR with Mica by his side.

A memorial service for Isaac will be held at the Crook County High School Auditorium Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1 o’clock pm. A reception will follow at the Prineville Golf and Country Club. Isaac was born in the fall during his favorite time of year, hunting season.

Isaac grew up hunting with his family and continued that tradition, sharing his love for the outdoors with his own children. Some of Isaac’s greatest memories and stories are from the many seasons at elk camp. Isaac also had a brotherhood of men that all got together each year and hunted (usually in Colorado); it was something they all looked forward to.

As well as being an avid outdoors man, Isaac was a champion wrestler. His career began at a young age. He was a USA Cobra and was coached by the outstanding Marc Sprague for most of his life.

A few of Isaac’s wrestling accomplishments include four junior national titles, 2 cadet national titles, and being named an Asics All- American 1st team, among many many more. There was not a weekend that Isaac and his brother Oscar were not wresting, from the time they were 4 and 5 years old until they retired in their 30’s. Isaac went to Sam Barlow High School, graduating in 1995.

During his time as a Bruin, he was a three-time Oregon high school state champion. Isaac signed his letter of intent to wrestle for Oregon State University after being heavily recruited by colleges across the country. Isaac wrestled for the Beavers until 1999, and then enlisted in the US Army to continue his dream of being an elite athlete.

Isaac married Micalene Lea Stafford September 11,1999 and in November 1999 he went off to boot camp. Following that he was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado with the WCAP (World Class Athlete Program).

Isaac and Mica made their home in Colorado Springs and began their family. On December 20,2001 their daughter, Bellarae Curry Wood, was born. Isaac adored Bella and called her “Princess”.

On March 6, 2004, their first son, Lige Mark-Gordon Wood, was born, Lige was Isaac’s heart and Isaac nicknamed him “Lige Man” (similar to his own nickname “Iceman”). On June 19, 2007 Lucky Isaac Wood made his appearance with such similar characteristics to Isaac. He was quickly called “Lucky Boy”.

We also have to mention Letty Moon Crawford, who came along just 5 years ago; Isaac loved her like he did his own and made sure she knew it. Isaac’s children were his true “championship”; he loved them with an undying love. He loved to take them on long country drives, and on those trips they were always laughing and enjoying their dad’s funny, witty personality.

Isaac was adored and cared for by his amazingly large family, especially his parents Gordon and Cyndy, and his aunt and uncle, Sharon and John Birdwell. Isaac also leaves brothers- in-law, Dan Isom and Joe Fox, a sister-in-law Lisa (Cox) Wood, as well as seven nieces and four nephews. There were so many people along Isaac’s journey that selflessly came alongside him, and for that, we thank you.

We all have different journeys, different paths along the way, we all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay, for eternity is where I will live on forever, until we meet again. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge. Psalm 91:4 Our dear friends Brett and Cheyenne Edgerly at the Prineville Funeral home are in charge of Isaac’s arrangements.

Barlow alumni and the Cobra Wrestling family have set up an account at Chase Bank for Isaac’s children; contact Chase Bank in Prineville for details.
