Obituary for Isaac Gilmore Isaac Gilmore son of the late Milton Gilmore and Laura Elliott Gilmore was born on November 25th, 1914 In Roxboro, North Carolina, Caswell County. Isaac was United in holy matrimony to the late Hattie Paylor on December 28th, 1936 in Danville Virginia. To this Union two Children were born, Gwendolyn and the late Vernon Gilmore.

In 1942 he moved his family to Washington, D.C. Then in 1945 the family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Isaac worked for the Miele Plumbing and Heating Company for many years. He was a member of local 332.

On February 23rd, 1969 he joined Zion Hill Baptist Church under Christian experience. He was the block captain of the 5700 block of Larchwood Avenue for a lot of years. Upon retirement Ike became the mode of transportation for his neighbors.

He enjoyed the simple things in life such as sitting outside on the porch winking and waving at the ladies as they went by. He always provided for his family and will always be remembered as a loving and giving person to all. At the age of 103 years old he was known to many as Ike, Gilmore, pop and Mr. G, passed away on June 17th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the last surviving member of his family out of 25 children. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his devoted daughter, Gwen, grandchildren Darrell, Cornell and Rosalyn Miller, a host of great-grand, great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, a special family, the Alexanders and a host of friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his “Home Going Services” Saturday July 21, 2018 at 1 PM precisely at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 2239 S. 3rd St. Phila.
