Isabel Medrano Gomez, born June 6, 1929 in Poteet, Texas to Pablo Medrano and Maria De La Luz Medrano. She passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 surrounded by her family at the age of 89 years. Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her husband, Santiago Alcorta Gomez and son, Fernando Gomez.

She is survived by her children, Gloria G. Fernandez (Jesse W.), Raul M. Gomez, Rudolfo M. Gomez, Carmen G. Zamora (Rudy), and Amalia “Molly” Gomez; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Gomez loved spending time with family. She was strong in her faith and turned to Christianity for her salvation.

She enjoyed gardening and visiting the local Goodwill Stores. On the week-end, she would go with her son, Roy and eat breakfast, and then go treasure hunting at the thrift stores. She would also visit the local malls making a day of the outing.

She worked at the Poteet Strawberry Festival for over 20 years. Family would gather with Mrs. Gomez at the Taqueria Mexico to celebrate her birthday every year and will continue this tradition in her honor. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family of Mrs. Gomez would like to thank Melissa Ritchey for the care and love she gave to our beloved Mother in her last days and to everyone else who came by to visit and reach out to the family. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday Evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Madre Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery in Poteet. Arrangements under the direction of Camero Funeral Home.
