OBITUARY Isabell “Izzy” Young February 9, 1930 – December 9, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Isabell “Izzy” Young, 88 years young, of Alma, gained her wings and went to her forever home in Glory on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Baptist Health in Fort Smith. She was born Isabell Webb on February 9, 1930 to Albert Sr. and Wilma Webb in Figure Five, where she would later attend school. She then married the love of her life John “JT” Thomas Young on April 15, 1944 in Crawford County, and they made Rudy their home.
She became a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church of God in Rudy, where she attended regularly and served as their Secretary/Treasurer. After working for many years, she retired from Brownwood Manor Nursing Home in Van Buren. Isabell enjoyed attending church, Rudy softball games, and taking care of her flowers and plants.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Family always came first. She not only raised three sons but also helped in taking care of all of her grandchildren.
Isabell always looked forward to having Sunday dinner after church with all of the family. She was the best cook, made the best fried chicken, the very best homemade ice cream, and the best yellow cake with fudge icing we’ve ever had. Isabell poured her love into everything she did.
Everyone always looked forward to going to Mother’s/Granny’s house, and some even made up excuses quite often just to go and spend extra time there. After retiring, Isabell took care of her husband JT until his passing on February 3, 2005. She then moved and made Alma her new home in September of 2009.
Isabell Young was a pillar of strength and kindness not only to her family, but to everyone who knew her. She was one of the most beautiful and sweetest people you’d ever meet. Isabell always had a smile on her face, always gave you all of her time, and loved you as her own.
You were forever changed by knowing her and having been a part of her life. Isabell loved the Lord, and oh so loved her family. She was a granny to some, but a mother to us all.
Isabell was a wonderful example that angels are truly among us. She is forever loved, and will be forever missed. We are surely jealous of the angels around the throne tonight.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sr. and Wilma Webb; two brothers, Phillip Webb and Lowell Webb; and her husband of 60 years, John “JT” Thomas Young. She is survived by three sons, Johnny Young and wife Kay of Alma, Darrell Young and wife Jennifer of Alma, and Terry Young and wife Peggy of Fort Smith; a sister, MayDell Cristee of Cedarville; a brother, Albert “Junior” Webb of Alma; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow Mt.
McCurry Cemetery in Rudy where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
“Her children arise up and call her blessed”.
