Isabella Irene (Snyder) Corcoran, 93, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully, on November 7, 2018, at The Gardens at York Terrace Nursing Home, Pottsville. Born in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County, on February 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. Sr. and Dillie Savilla (Herring) Snyder. Isabella attended Schwartz Elementary School and is a 1943 graduate of Cressona High School.

She received her nursing degree from Ashland State Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She was employed as a registered nurse at local hospitals and doctors’ offices. A large part of her career was as a night shift registered nurse at York Terrace Nursing Home.

She was best known for her kind, gentle nature and warm smile. She was a caring, compassionate nurse. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Corcoran Sr. who passed away on April 1, 1994. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Daniel, Henry, Luther, Andrew, and Arthur Snyder; her son-in-law, Joseph A. Klein; her grandson, Dillion Corcoran and her great-grandson, Tommy Klein. Isabella is survived by two daughters, Gail A. (Corcoran) Klein widow of the late Joseph A. Klein, of Gwynedd and Patricia L. Corcoran fiancé of Michael A. Piccioni, Pottsville; two sons, James J. Corcoran Jr. husband of Beverly, Pottsville and John M. Corcoran husband of Marcy, Stroudsburg.

Also surviving her are seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Timothy, and Steven Klein; Kristyn and Ryne Corcoran; Cody Petravich and Kelly Corcoran; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jakob, Max, Chase, Kate and Abby Klein; two sisters, Sarah A. (Snyder) Ferrebee and Emma E. (Snyder) Bulvin, of Bedford; three brothers, Alfred A. Snyder, Paul A. Snyder, and Leonard D. Snyder. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Church of St. Patrick, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:30AM until the time of mass.

Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Isabella would like memorial contributions be made to St. Patrick’s Memorial fund 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville PA 17901.
