Ivan’s Obituary Obituary Ivan Jerry Tinno Sr., 74 Ivan Jerry Tinno Sr., 74, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his home in Fort Hall. Ivan was born September 15, 1944 in Landon, Wyoming to Scott James Tinno and Mabel Engavo Nakota. He was raised and educated in Fort Washakie, Wyoming before moving to Fort Hall.

He married Phyllis Ute in Wyoming, who preceded him in death. He married Marion Sawyer in Blackfoot, who also preceded him in death. Ivan was a police officer of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe of the Wind River Reservation.

and also volunteered as a sports referee. He was a Committee Health Representative and an EMT in Wyoming. He was a member of the Native American Church and was a Sun dancer and a spiritual water caretaker His beadwork is world-renowned and is displayed in the Smithsonian Institution and throughout the northwest.

He participated in numerous cultural activities and enjoyed traditional stick games and loved to travel. Ivan is survived by his son, Ivan W. Tinno Jr. of Fort Hall; his daughters Yolanda Tinno Ute of Lincoln Creek and Felicia Tinno, an adopted daughter of Fort Hall; brothers Harvey F. Tinno of Pocatello, and Ron Perry of Wyoming; nephews LaVern Tinno of Gibson, Derrick Tinno of Fort Hall, Kimball Dixey of Blackfoot, Scott C. Dixey of Pocatello; sisters Melina Jarvis of Wyoming and Della Dixey of Idaho Falls; nieces Roxanne Tinno of Fort Hall, Popeye Little of Nevada, Courtney Dixey of Blackfoot, and Ashlee Tinno of Nampa; and various grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Phyllis Ute and Marion Sawyer Tinno; his parents; brothers Eldon Tinno and Meldon Tinno; sister Delilah Tinno; uncle Jerry Tinno; nephew Fredrick Tinno; niece Mavis Tinno; cousins Zelford Tinno, Cleo Tinno, Vernon Tinno and Keith Tinno.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Sand Hill Cemetery. Ivan will be taken out to his residence on Lodge Road in Fort Hall on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.
