Obituary for J. E. “Pete” Walker J. E. “Pete” Walker Evans, GA – Died Friday, November 9, 2018, Mr. J. E. “Pete” Walker, 89, loving and devoted husband of over 65 years to Mrs. Vera Cawley Walker. Pete was a native of Augusta. He worked from the time he was 10 years old until the age of 82.

He retired from Braxton-Culler after a longtime career as a traveling furniture manufacturer’s representative. He also served 4 years in the US Navy Supply Department. Family members in addition to his wife include a special nephew and niece: Donald E. Cawley and Ashley Cawley Young (Michael); other nieces and nephews include: Jill Walker Hauth (Bill), Ann Walker Ala, John Thomas Walker (Jerri), Cathy Cawley (Jeff), Travis E. Cawley (Corena) and Tammie Cawley Jennings; and several other great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, 1901 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd. , Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
