OBITUARY J W Duke January 29, 1932 – December 31, 2018 J. W. Duke 86 of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018. He was born January 29, 1932 in Groesbeck, Texas to Willie Leroy and Lizzie (Sutton) Duke. J.W. was an avid gardener whom enjoyed spending countless hours maintaining his garden and yard, he had a green thumb and could grow just about anything.

His main focus later in life was spending time with his grandkids and cooking bar-b-que for them. He served in the United States Marine Corp and retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 35 years. J.W. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Stepanski Duke of Spring; sons, Michael Duke and wife, Julie of Coppell, Tx; Darrell Duke and wife, Jeri of Spring, Tx; grandchildren, Kevin, Samuel and Haylee; great-grandson, Emmett; sisters, Linda Ruthel Wakefield, Willie Lea Freeman and Carol Ruby Little along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Alice Pearl Hunt and Eloise Platt.
