Obituary for Jack Prebil Jack Prebil Jack died in his sleep on April 9, 2018. He was born on February 5, 1977 and was the beloved son of Thomas J. Prebil and the late Ann M. Prebil. Jack is also survived by his brother T.J. Prebil (Erinn), sister Mary M. McCluskey (Ryan) and two nephews: Finn and his Godson, Trey.

Jack attended grammar school at Our Lady of Lourdes and Chaminade College Preparatory School for grades 7 through 12. He graduated from Chaminade in 1995 and his classmates remained among his best friends. After high school, Jack attended the University of Tulsa, and graduated in 1999.

Following college Jack moved to Chicago and worked there for several years before returning to St. Louis. Upon his return, Jack worked in the hospitality industry, and most recently was employed by the Circuit Court for the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit in the City of St. Louis. In many ways, Jack’s life unfolded in two parts, both well lived.

A very happy and carefree first half, playing sports, especially soccer, making life-long friends at Chaminade and Tulsa. In the second half a burden was imposed on Jack with the onset of epilepsy. He had to learn how to cope with the interruption of periodic seizures and the constant effect of multiple medications and their harsh side effects.

Notwithstanding this challenge, Jack always strove to work hard, enjoy family, make new friends and enjoy what life brought his way. In what would become his final days, he commented to several friends and family members how happy he was – an achievement he well deserved. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Prebil ‘95 Scholarship fund at Chaminade, 425 South Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, Missouri 63131.

Services: Visitation Monday, April 16 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, Missouri 63,122. Funeral Mass on Tuesday April 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 7148 Forsyth Blvd. , University City, 63130.

Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
