OBITUARY Jack Evans Sholander June 17, 1925 – December 14, 2018 Jack E. Sholander, Age 93, passed away Dec. 14, 2018, born June 17, 1925. During WWII, Jack worked at Boeing and Beechcraft.

After the war, he worked for Clyde Baughman. He later worked for and retired from the Engineering Department for the City of Wichita. After his retirement, he drove school busses for USD 259.

Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. Jack was young at heart, always there to lend a hand, and was a very humble man. He was follower of Jesus Christ and a dedicated member of Central Community Church for over 70 years.

Jack was preceded in death by father, Earl E. Sholander, mother, Corrine O. Hedstrom, and wife of 63 years, LaVina Sholander. He is survived by sons, Mark E. (Joyce) Sholander of Wichita, KS, and Eric E. (Sheri) Sholander of Garden City, MI; sisters, Joyce Goodrich of Twin Falls, ID, JoAnn Gard of Wichita, KS, and Carole Wright of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Dana Black of Derby, KS, Mike (Melinda) Black of Derby, KS, Nick (Nancy) Sholander of Douglass, KS, Chris Black of Wichita, KS, Erica (Mike) Reeves of Wichita, KS, Larson (Lynn) Sholander of Detroit, MI, Jamison (Courtney) of Grand Rapids, MI, Linnea (Dale) Kellar of Eastport, MI, Annika Sholander of Garden City, MI; great grandchildren, Summer (Anthony) Tucker of Derby, KS, Tyeler Sholander of Douglass, KS, Jada Black of Derby, KS, Blake Sholander of Douglass, KS, Christabelle Heytens Reeves of Wichita, KS, Payton Sholander of Douglass, KS, Alice Reeves of Wichita, KS, Cedar Kellar of Eastport, MI, and a great many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sun.

Dec. 16, 2018 and his Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Mon. Dec.

17, 2018, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy. 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s name to Central Community’s General Fund or Chapels for Africa/Rwanda Fund.
