Jack’s Obituary The SERVICE for Mr. Huffman will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri. OFFICIATING at the service will be Pastor James Damon. VISITATION will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. preceding the service.

INTERMENT will be in the Appleton City Cemetery. The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be given to the Appleton City Cemetery. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

Jack Monroe Huffman passed away peacefully at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 13, 2019. The sixth of eight children born to William J. and Ola Mae (Brown) Huffman, he was born on November 13, 1941 in rural Bates County, Missouri. He attended Rockville School and later graduated from Appleton City High School in 1960.

After completing his education he began a career in auto mechanics in Rockville, Missouri, where he worked most of his life. Jack also did many odd jobs around the Rockville area, including working at the sale barn in Rich Hill. Apart from his work, he dearly loved to garden, growing many vegetables.

He was especially famous for his tomatoes and regularly sought to “out-do” his neighbors and friends crops. Fishing was also a passion of his. He frequently caught his limit on the many rivers, lakes, and ponds in the local area.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, William Jay and Ola Mae (Brown) Huffman; two brothers, Arthur Dean Huffman and Richard Huffman. Jack is survived by his siblings: Billie Mae Wilt, Jay Huffman (Dixie), Beverly Brown (James), Mary Lou Breeden, Fred Huffman (Diana); along with many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
