OBITUARY Jack Mitchell January 14, 1922 – January 25, 2019 Jack Mitchell, age 97, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away January 25, 2019. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on January 14, 1922 to O.V. and Olive Mitchell. Jack served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the South Pacific during World War II and he also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a member of Orchard Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and on many committees. Jack retired from NAS Pensacola and University Hospital. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a devoted wife of 73 years, Louise T. Mitchell; two children, Jack (Cathy) Mitchell and Sara M. Anderson; three grandchildren, Michelle (Andrew) Hardin, Keith (Latanya) Weed, and Travis Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, O.V. and Olive Mitchell; son, Charles V. Mitchell; great granddaughter, Brandolyn Hardin; brother, William “Bill” Mitchell; and sisters, Thelma Hogan and Geniva Drake. His greatest joy was serving God, his Lord and Savior, his family, working in the yard, and sharing his love of flowers with others. Jack was a loving father and devoted granddaddy.

Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. from Orchard Baptist Church, 6960 Overlook Rd. Mobile, Alabama 36618. The family will be accepting friends at the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will immediately follow at Spring Hill Memorial Gardens. FAMILY Louise T. Mitchell, Wife of 73 years Jack (Cathy) Mitchell, Son Sara M.
