Obituary for Jackey Joe Winters Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. Jackey Joe Winters, 59, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at his home in Water Valley, MS. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery (Blackmur Dr., Water Valley, MS 38965) in Water Valley. Rev. Stoney Moorhead will officiate.
Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Winters was born in Marks, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Winters enjoyed both hunting and fishing. However, he was especially fond of hunting deer and squirrel. Mr. Winters was also fascinated with raising chickens and gardening.
He worked most of his life as a painter. One of Mr. Winter’s greatest feats was his stories of working on the skyscrapers in Memphis with his brother. He was also an amazing family man.
Mr. Winters loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. Mr. Winters is survived by three daughters, Michelle Winters of Oxford, and Stephanie (Eric Green) Winters and Angie (Will Poynor) Wood, both of Water Valley; two sons, Tony (Jennifer) Winters of Winona, MS, and Joseph (Katherine) Lovelace of Abbeville, MS; the mother of his children, Sharon Harrison of Pontotoc, MS; one brother, Charles Ray Winters of Water Valley; one nephew, Josh Winters of Water Valley; one niece, Molly Ann (Stewart) Mason; seven granddaughters, Jessica Wood, Madison Green, Katelin LaCook, Kali Lovelace, Sarah Winters, Segan Prince, and Ainsley Winters; six grandsons, Robert Wood, Tyler Buffkin, Brandon Green, Kameron Lovelace, Austin Winters, and Bailey Prince; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Winters was preceded in death by his parents, Early Winters and Rachel Annie Doris Winters; and mother of one of his sons, Mandy Lovelace.
