Jackie James Davis December 19, 2018 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook Jackie James Davis, 79, of Chillicothe, passed away 3:53 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born October 20, 1939 in Massieville, OH to Virgil and Dora North Davis. On March 10, 1962, he married the former Connie Park who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Christina (Bryon) Thornton and Belinda (Michael) Hatfield, both of Chillicothe and John (Laura) Davis, of Londonderry; grandchildren, James (Sarah) Davis, Matthew (Heather) Thornton, Amanda (J.J.) Cyrus, Candace (Bill) Deleon, Leah Jarrell, Jeffrey (Katelyn) Davis, Jacob Davis and fiancee Kristyn Johnson, Lauren Davis and Justin Davis; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur (Vickie) Davis, of Louisville, KY; a sister, Margaret “Maggie” Newlan, of Frankfort, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by mother and stepfather, Dora and Hoyt Tull and father, Virgil Davis; four brothers and three sisters. Jackie retired from the U.S. Marine Corps following 22 years of service.

He received a Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War and he served during the Korean era. He was a member of VFW Post #108 and VFW Post #3331 and a member of the DAV. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Evans Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps and the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
