Jacquelyn K. Lindemann, 33, of Orleans, MA and formerly of Montague, passed away November 18, 2018, after a motorcycle accident in Tampa, Florida, while she was vacationing just six days after her birthday. Jackie, as most of called her, went to the Franklin County Technical School for culinary arts, graduating in 2004. During high school, she was a member of the ski club, the wrestling team and yearbook.
After high school, Jackie moved to Newbury College in Brookline where she became an ambassador for the school. It was there she found her love of the hospitality industry. She loved to travel and spent a period of time in Bachelor Gulch, CO working at the Ritz Carlton before returning to Cape Cod.
Cape Cod became her home over the years, living there most of her adult life. She loved everything the Cape had to offer, including the ocean and being in the water. She began managing Uno’s Pizzeria in Hyannis, moving on to Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, where she was the Guest Services manager.
One year, Jackie did the Polar Bear Plunge to raise money for charity. After five years at Wequassett, she bought a one way ticket to Hawaii and flew off into the sunset. “Quit your job, buy a ticket, get a tan, fall in love, never return”.
She started as Front Office Manager at Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, ending her career there as Housekeeping Manager. Her friends and co worker in Hawaii were her family away from home and she was loved by all. She truly loved the Hawaiian culture, their kindness and sense of family.
In Hawaii, there was always another adventure around the corner, and Jackie had quite the adventurous soul. She was an active person, and loved exploring all the islands had to offer. From cliff diving, skydiving, jumping off waterfalls, and swimming with giant rays at night.
In November 2017, she flew back to the mainland to be closer to family and friends, who were now having families of their own. She took the position of Head of Housekeeping at the Catham Bars Inn. In the spring, she saw a chance to become General Manager at the Inn on the Common in Falmouth.
Jackie was a natural born leader and had a work ethic second to none. She was the type of person that saw a chance at every corner and took it. She believed she could so she did.
She had an enthusiasm for life and a love for adventure and experiences. Jackie could light up a room with her infectious, sunny smile and those who knew her loved her dearly. All who met or worked with Jackie had a great respect of her and she was considered a wonderful teacher and friend.
She enjoyed life and all that she could surround herself with. She was a lover of Boston sports, especially the Red Sox, fine cheese, wine and her beloved kitties she rescued in Maui. Among her survivors, Jackie leaves her parents, Richard and Rita Lindemann of Turners Falls; a brother, Andrew Lindemann, whom she was extremely close with; a niece, Alexis Antonellis; a nephew, Orion Lindemann; a brother, Sean Booker (Kia); her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Lindemann of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including her niece Lucas Booker and his wife Tianna.
