Jalen’s Obituary Jalen S. Griffin, 23, of Dagsboro, DE, departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Born in Lewes, DE, he was the son of Kimberly Griffin-McCray (Fabian, Sr.) of Dagsboro and James H. Gibbs, Jr. of Millsboro, DE. Jalen volunteered at the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department #73.

He worked at Tecta America in Fruitland as a roofer. He attended Antioch A.M.E. Church in Frankford, DE. In addition to his parents, he will be lovingly remembered by: four brothers, Fabian McCray, Jr., Torez Ayres (Keyana), Ryan Parker, and Princeton Gibbs; seven sisters, Martesha Conner, DaMya Williams, Fabrea McCray Conner, Chloe Martin, Jamia Mitchell, Janell Gibbs, and Khature Gibbs; maternal grandparents, Jeanlene Jacobs (Glen, Sr.) and Rev.

Dr. Perry Tankard, Sr. (Rona); paternal grandparents, James Gibbs, Sr. (Sherry); maternal great-grandmothers, Pastor Mae E. Parker and Hazel Jacobs; paternal great-grandmother, Lillian Gibbs; a nephew, Trenton Ayres; a niece, Ava McCray; a special friend, Kayla Lathbury; several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Jalen will lie in repose on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Indian River High School, 29772 Armory Road, Dagsboro. The funeral service will begin at 1 PM.

Interment will follow at Antioch A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Frankford.
