Born April 21, 1957 in Spartanburg, SC, was the son of James Bishop Hamrick, Sr. and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Wood. James was a shop foreman with Piedmont Mechanical.

He was a member of Great Vision Church of God, a Mason, and a Shriner. Survivors include his dad, James Bishop Hamrick Sr. (Betty) of Pauline, SC; a sister, Elaine Shepherd, of Spartanburg, SC; three sons, James Kyle Hamrick, Sr. (Alexis) of Moore, SC, Matthew Blake Sellers (Blayke) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Joshua Bishop Hamrick of Boiling Springs, SC; five grandchildren, Abbie, Aiden, Wyatt, KJ, and Raegan; a brother, Mark Hamrick of Spartanburg, SC; and a step-sister, Malissa Guy of Moore, SC. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel, 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, conducted by The Rev.
