Beloved husband of Esther (nee Ruehl) Smart for 62 years. Dear father of James (Mary) Smart, Mary Mixon, Judy (Harry) Bartley, Thomas (Monica Cox) Smart, Dale Smart and the late John Smart.

Devoted son of Gladys Smart Combs and the late James J. Smart. Loving grandfather of Amy (Jeff) Birri, Jennifer (Jeremy) Madden, Theresa (Mark Ewald) Smart; Cobran’I (Annie) Mixon, Dant’e Mixon; Christopher Smart, Lisa (Michael) Cooper; Emily (Mark) Cranley, Sarah (Andy) Ferrigno and great grandfather of Hannah, Elizabeth and Danielle; Ava, Baine and Lilian, Faith, Christopher II, Elizabeth, Christopher and Christian; A.J., Ethan, Jack, Sean and Nicholas. Dear brother of Cathy (Jeff) Volz, Jerry (Raeleen) Smart and the late Jack and Joseph Smart and brother in law of Raymond (Sharon) Ruehl and Rose (the late Charles) Doll.
