Obituary for James Carl Boruff James Carl Boruff, age 88, of DeMotte, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Franciscan Health of Crown Point, Indiana. He was born February 25, 1930 in Tazwell, Tennessee to Arthur and Allie (Sutherland) Boruff. On January 5, 1954, in Chatsworth, Georgia, James married Reba Boone.

James was a graduate of Friendsville Academy in Blount County, Tennessee. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local #150 from which he retired after 30 years. James is a proud United States Army Veteran.

He attended Victory Baptist Church in Roselawn. In his spare time, James loved to fish, work in his floral garden and was an avid sports fan, especially cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers football team. James is survived by his wife, Reba Boruff of DeMotte, IN; sons: James (Tracy) Boruff of DeMotte, IN; Darrell (Linda) Boruff of Wheatfield, IN; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Modglin; Nicole Boruff; DJ (Mercedes) Boruff.

James was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jason Boruff, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:45 PM. A Graveside service will be held at Cemetery of the Resurrection on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ballard Lewis officiating.
