Obituary for James “Chris” Settles James Christopher “Chris” Settles, 54 of Stanley, KY died Friday August 31st, 2018 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 23rd, 1964 in Owensboro, KY to Jim and Patty Settles. Chris was a loving husband, father, and granddaddy who owned and operated a family farm “Settles 3 Chick Farms” in Stanley, KY.

He was a lifelong member of St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Stanley, KY, a member of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years, a participant of the Philip Morris Agriculture Leadership Program, a previous board member of the National Farmers Organization, a previous board member for Owensboro Catholic Schools, a proud supporter of the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service, and the Owensboro Lions Club in which he was an avid supporter of the Soap Box Derby. Chris is survived by his wife, of 31 years, Sandy Settles. His Children, Melissa Settles of Owensboro, Lauren Settles (Brian) Neltner of Henderson, Kelsey Settles (Jordan) Pruden of Bowling Green.

1 grandchild Ansley Rose Neltner. Surviving siblings include Stephen (Connie) Settles, Lori (Mark) Siler all of Georgetown, Kentucky, Joe (Lori) Settles of Winchester, Kentucky, Mary (Bob) White of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Nathan (Melissa) Settles of Bardstown, Kentucky Services will be at 10, September 4, 2018 at St. Peter of Alcantara Church with burial following at St. Peter of Alacantara Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday September 3, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory and 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday September 4, 2018.

Expressions of sympathy may take place in form of donations to Puzzle Pieces; 1521 Frederica St; Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Settles.
