James’ Obituary Mr. James Alton Curlin, Sr.,76, of Memphis passed away 5:20 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. He was a former resident of Hickman, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home.

Brother Henry Callison will officiate. Burial will follow in Brownsville (Ky) Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Steele, Jake Curlin, DJ Dilday, Michael Fletcher, Mack Cooper and Robert Cooper. Honorary pallbearer will be Melvin Pierce. Mr. Curlin was born October 30, 1942, in Fulton County, Kentucky, son of the late Herschel and Melba Ruth (Elam) Curlin.

He married Martha Ann “Mot” (Caldwell) Curlin December 2, 1961. She survives. He had been employed at Sigri Carbon Corportation in Hickman, Kentucky and retired from the Shelby County Road Department.

James was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis and was a Mason. He is also survived by one son, Jim Curlin (Emily) of Gadsden, Alabama; one daughter, Jennifer Cannon (Mike) of Millington; seven grandchildren, Paige Morganelli (Jon) of Munford, Amber Steele (Kevin), Codi Dilday (DJ) and Jake Curlin (girlfriend Forrest Parker) all of Union City and Mitchell Cannon, Wesley Cannon and AJ Cannon all of Millington; six great grandchildren, Morgan Palmer, Kinley Steele, Kannon Steele, Briley Kate McKinney, Austyn Brooke Dilday and Tucker Dilday all of Union City; one sister, Linda Curlin Wilson of Union City; and two brothers, Jerry Curlin (Wanda) of Hickman, Kentucky and Bill Curlin (Candy) of Tiptonville.
