James Curtis Cannon, 63, Chandler resident, was born June 9, 1955 to J.C. and Greta (Jones) Cannon in Oklahoma City and passed away December 25, 2018 in Shawnee. Jim grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1973. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.

He worked for many years as a semi-truck driver but will be remembered for his 50 plus years of being a very knowledgeable mechanic. Friends, family, and even strangers sought him out for his much needed help over the years with all kinds of automotive questions. Jim married the love of his life, Pamela Joyce, on February 26, 1988 in Burneyville, OK (Love County) at his parents’ home.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, J.C. and Greta Cannon; sister, Janice Faye; son, Marcus De Leon; mother-in-law, Naomi Mattheyer; father-in-law, J.W. Mattheyer; grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Cannon of the home; son, Jesse Ginn of Chandler; daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Marc Safford of Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, daughter, Michelle De Leon of Austin, TX; daughter, Melissa De Leon of Austin, TX; daughter, Barbie De Leon of Austin, TX; (2) grandchildren, Graciella and Gabriel Safford; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and many friends. A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
