OBITUARY James Don Ehrhardt Passed away on October 20, 2018 James Don Ehrhardt, 67, of Georgetown, passed away on Saturday morning, October 20, 2018. James was born the oldest of three sons to James Arwell and Dorthey Ehrhardt in Austin, Texas on December 14, 1950. James grew up and attended schools in Austin and Round Rock.

He married the love of his life, Stephanie on July 12, 1974. They had their one and only daughter, Amanda, in 1987. After graduating from Lanier High School, James was chosen for the draft.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a soldier in the Vietnam War. Once returning home, he began his career in the construction industry as a Union Carpenter. He then moved on to work construction as a Superintendent at Faulkner Construction Company for 20 years and later retired from DPR Construction.

He loved his career and the many friends he made along his journey, but retirement was non negotiable due to heath issues. He would still be doing what he loved if the doctors would have released him. James made an impact on many peers through his hard work, dedication to his career, and desire to teach others how to reach their full potential.

James was living his best life in retirement. His days included smoking beef jerky (James’ Jerky), naps in his recliner, lunch with Stephanie, FaceTiming Amanda, countless hours playing Candy Crush, watching old westerns, and spending time with his granddogs, Hank and Dolce. He also fulfilled the role as “HR” at Stephanie’s store, Gatherings, where he enjoyed visiting with all his friends.

He never missed a game of the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, or San Antonio Spurs. He had recently discovered emoji’s and gifs and would leave everyone rolling on the floor with his super cool jokes. James was a kind-hearted man who loved his family and walked in faith daily.

James invited Christ into his life at an early age, but his faith continued to grow as he encountered many health issues. He was as strong as they come, surviving not only one, but two open heart surgeries. James was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Michael Ehrhardt; his Father and Mother-in-law, Donald and Lula Mae Dearing.

James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Stephanie Ehrhardt; his daughter, Amanda Ehrhardt both of Georgetown; his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mitzi Ehrhardt; his brother and sister-in-law Rusty and Tammy Burns; his brother-in-law Donald Louis Dearing; numerous nieces and nephews; his lifelong friend Bill Cloud; his friend, Alan Matthews; and his granddogs, Hank and Dolce. Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH-35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
