Obituary for James E Battersby BATTERSBY, JAMES E., – age 74, lifelong resident of Upper Township, passed away Sunday September 30 following a lengthy illness. A 1962 graduate of Ocean City High School and the Cape May County Technical School, prior to a disability retirement he worked over 30 years for the NCR Company. Jim was predeceased by his son Ryan, brother Butch, and parents Clarence and Marion.
He is survived by his grandchildren Madison and Jordan, and their grandmother Nancy Wire, all of Fries, Virginia. He is survived by sisters Rachel of Ocean City, NJ and Marlena (Doug) Pittman of Westmont, NJ and his brothers Gene (Robin) of Westhampton, NJ, John (Karen) of Chambersburg, PA and Mark (Carol) of Mishawaka, IN. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces including Trevor (Jenn) of Norfolk, VA, John (Stacy) of Marietta, GA, Stephen (Sharon), of Pennsville, NJ, Janene (Drew) of Upper Township, NJ, Devon (Jon) Fleury of Collegeville Pa and Tyler of Mishawaka, IN, several great nieces and nephews and cousins near and far.
He is also survived by his longtime friend and former wife Anita Rivera. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered at 11am on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at the Church of the Resurrection of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ, where friends may call from 10am until the time of mass. Burial will follow service at Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ.
