Obituary for James Hastings James Hastings, 77, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Landmark Hospital, Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born January 23, 1941, to parents Franklin Edward and Elizabeth Brawley Hastings at Piedmont, MO. On September 9, 1967 he was united in marriage to Jeanne Claire and to this union six children were born.

He had worked many years as a long-distance truck driver and later had worked as a bus driver and custodian for Clearwater Schools. James was known to have a green thumb, enjoying his Tulips and Roses. He was also a handy kind of man, making toys for his grandchildren.

In spare time fishing and collecting things were favorite activities. James had a constant companion in later years with his dog Coco. He was a loving father and grandfather.

James is survived by his children: Frank Hastings and wife Belinda of Tucker, GA, Willie Beaty and wife JaneAnn of Fredericktown, MO; four daughters, Alice Bowen Hastings of South Gate, CA, Christy Henson and husband Kevin of Cheyenne, WY, Janie Hastings, and Pam Hastings, both of Piedmont; thirteen grandchildren: Megan Knopf and husband Josh, James Hastings, Brandi Henson, Angela Hastings, Summer Hastings, Daniel Beaty and wife Jessica, Rachael Copeland and husband Roy, Matthew Beaty and wife Dani, Nicholas Beaty and wife Mollee; eleven great grandchildren: Makenzie Knopf, Silas Knopf, Charliegh Knopf, Calleigh London, Madison Hastings, Hudson Beaty, Suzie Beaty, Floyd Beaty, Riley Beaty, Adyson Copeland and Emma Copeland. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jeanne; two grandchildren: Steffen Hastings and River Hastings; brother: Perry Mack Hastings; sister: Bessie Hastings Counts. Visitation will be at 6:00 pm Friday, July 20, 2018 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO.

Funeral will follow at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 also at the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Chapel, Piedmont, MO. Online condolences can be made at www.
