A homegoing celebration for Mr. James Edward “Main” Newsome of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 will be held on Saturday, September 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. , Rev. Bryant Fayson, of Mt.

Zion A.M.E Church, Mulberry, Florida, officiating. Mr. James Edward Newsome, who was affectionately known as “Main”, was born December 6, 1955 in Tampa, Florida to the late Howard and Annie Lee Newsome. He was the 4th of eight siblings born to this union.

Mr. Newsome attend the public schools of Hillsborough County and was employed at Red Rose Feed Company for many years until he became disabled. Mr. Newsome was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Annie Newsome, brothers, Cornelius Newsome and Sidney Newsome; sister, Barbara Ann Hall and nephew, Tyrone Newsome. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his sisters, Otella Edwards and Lula Bell Moore; brothers, Howard (Ernestine) Newsome, Lee Edgar Newsome and Murray; Newsome; nieces and nephews, Cornelius, Beverly, Nathaniel, Gloria Ann, Shani, Kanika, Arri, Jermain Christian, Herman, Tamesha, DeMarcus, Aaron and Kendra; brother-in-law, Robert Pete Edwards; special friend, Nate McCarthan; a host of aunts, uncles, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends.

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
