Obituary for James Edward Paul James Edward Paul of Biddeford, formerly of Kennebunk, died February 10, 2019 at home in the loving care of his family. Jim was born February 15, 1942 in Biddeford, ME a son of Roy and Grace (Slager) Paul. He attended Lyman and Kennebunk schools and started working at a young age.

Jim worked for Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk and Allied Shoe in Springvale. Then off to Gene’s Bakery for many many years. In his later years, he really enjoyed helping out at Bartley’s Dockside Restaurant in Kennebunkport.

On July 10, 1971, Jim married Bessie Ruth Little Brown, celebrating one day shy of 44 years of marriage, love and friendship upon her passing in 2015. Jim enjoyed music and loved playing the guitar. In his younger years, he and Bessie, family and friends would get together, make music and dance.

He absolutely loved it. Jim also enjoyed tinkering with small engines and playing horseshoes. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Bessie; his son, Walter Brown, Jr.; and his brothers, Roy Paul, Ronnie Paul and Arthur Slager.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Laurie Valliere and her wife, Nikki, Catherine Brown and her husband, Russell, of Kennebunk, Shirley Ames of Arundel, and Sandra Paul and her husband, Bob, of Bedford, NH; his brother, Don Paul and his wife, Barbara, Lebanon, ME; his sisters, Linda Townsend and her husband, Nelson, of Salem, NH, his twin, Joan Gregoire, of Biddeford; Sharon Little and wife, Nancy Chamberlin, of Saco and Carol Kuheana of Biddeford; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME with Rev. Burton Howe.

Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery will take place in the spring.
