Obituary for James F. Elwood James F. Elwood age 83 of Forest, died at his residence on Sunday May 6, 2018 at 7:20AM. He was born February 19, 1935 in Hardin County to Wilford W. and Martha M. (Callahan) Elwood. He married Joan J. Weber in 1955 and she preceded her in death on Oct.
8, 2014. Jim is survived by a daughter Julia (Jerry) Messenger, Forest and sons Randy Elwood TX, Michael Elwood, Kenton, three grandchildren Erin Elwood, Jeannie Marie Elwood, Megan Marie Messenger, three great grandchildren Tayler Elwood, Kellen Holland, Kaylynne Creamer, two brothers Dean Elwood, IN, Gary Elwood, IN, two sisters Ruth Shaw, Forest, Pauline Hamilton, Forest, and a special friend Hazel Horn, Forest. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Elwood was the owner/operator of Elwood’s Tree Services for over 65 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #428 of Kenton and a former Mason. Jim was a Jackson Twp.
Trustee and served on the Forest ambulance board for 20 years. For hobbies he enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially mushrooms and spending winters in Florida. A funeral service will be held Thursday May 10, 2018 at 1:00pm in Clark Shields Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery, Forest. Visitation will be Wednesday May 9, 2018 from 2pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Jackson EMS or Bridge Hospice in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
