BEVERLY – James F. “Jack” Kittredge, 90, died Monday, December 31, 2018 at his home following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Ruth M. (Haskell) Kittredge. Born in Everett on December 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Herbert Kittredge and Ida Mae (Chase) Kittredge Roache.

He has resided in Beverly since 1954. Jack served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the 182nd Infantry Association of Massachusetts and was honorably discharged… Read More » in 1953.

Jack worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Chelsea Soldiers Home, where he met his wife, Ruth, and later worked at the former Danvers State Hospital as a Head Nurse before retiring as a Case Manager with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He received his RN degree from North Shore Community College in 1972. Jack was also a long time Manager for the Beverly Little League and was elected to The Beverly Little League Hall of Fame in 2014.

In addition to his wife of sixty-seven years, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Jeanne (Archibald) Kittredge of Beverly; four grandchildren, Michael Kittredge of Beverly, Christopher Rosa and his wife, Lindsey of Gloucester, Casey Rosa and companion, Samantha Kent of Beverly and Jennifer Buckley of Salem; three great-grandchildren, Claire and Lila Buckley of Salem and Bastion Rosa of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Lauren Ruth Kittredge and her husband, Leo Rosa, grandson, Bryan Buckley, step-father, John Roache as well as five brothers and one sister. The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs at Care Dimensions in Danvers and Care One at Essex Park for their kind support helping Jack.

His funeral service will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly.
