WEYMOUTH – James F. McHugh at 88 years of age, “Jim” passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Born and raised in Norwell, he was the son of Harry V. and Delia (Kirrane) McHugh. Jim was married for sixty one years to Katherine (McPartlan) who pre-deceased him in 2015. They had seven children together: Margaret R. Taber married to William S. of Weymouth, James P. McHugh of Weymouth (deceased in 2017), John F. McHugh of Salt Lake City, Utah, Thomas W. McHugh of Weymouth, Robert J. McHugh married to Christine J. of Mint Hill, N.C., Scott M. McHugh of Weymouth, and Joseph M. McHugh married to Marie of Revere. Jim loved spending time with all nine of his grandchildren, and was especially pleased to become a great-grandfather of one in early 2018.

There will be a private family gathering at Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street in Braintree on Thursday, followed by a burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Norwell VNA Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
