Obituary for James Frank Ranii James Frank Ranii Of Aspinwall, who invariably called it like he saw it, died October 14,2018, in his sleep. He was 94. Jim grew up in Blawnox and graduated from Aspinwall High School before becoming an airplane mechanic with the 305th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force, stationed in England during World War II.

After returning from the war he proposed to Lillian Zuccaro on April 1, 1946, but it was no April Fool’s joke. She was the love of his life. He had a wide variety of jobs, including stints at Sears, Heppenstall and Portec, and worked two jobs for 12 years to put his three children through college.

Jim was preceded in death by three siblings, Jennie, Carmello and George. He was enormously proud of his family and their accomplishments. Survivors include Lillian and their three children: James Jr. (Miguel), David (Bonnie) and Jan (J.

Gary); grandchildren Melina, Anthony, Emily, Natalee and Marcus; and five great-grandchildren. Service info will be announced at a later date.
