James G. Succop James Gilbert Succop, age 62 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Paramount Senior Living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jim was born on February 19, 1957, in Pittsburgh, 1 of 11 children of the late William Gilbert and Gladys Marie (Deering) Succop. Jim was a graduate of Shadyside Academy and obtained his college degree from Oxford College of Emory University in Georgia.

He was employed by American Roller Bearing located in RIDC Park for 31 years working in inside sales, customer service and financial administration. He was a member of St. Thomas A’ Becket Catholic Church. His favorite hobby was automobiles and he could tell you the makes, models and features of most vehicles from his childhood days throughout his adulthood.

Jim was also an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh based ones, but he also cheered for the Tennessee Titans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elizabeth Stevens and Sarah Merrill; 1 brother, Carl Succop; 1 sister-in-law, Mary Succop; and 2 brothers-in-law, Frank Dickson and Reid King.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Carole (Froehlich) Succop; 2 daughters, Christie (Mike) Eckert and Kellie (Adam) Guzik; 1 son, Chad James Succop; 2 grandsons, Miller Eckert and Isaac Guzik; 3 sisters, Mary Dickson, Nancy (Laurence) McCullough and Lynne (Tom) Betzwieser; 4 brothers, Lawrence Succop, J. William (Nancy) Succop, David (Robyn) Succop and Benjamin (Sara Lou) Succop; 1 brother-in-law, Arthur Merrill; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Special gratitude for the loving care and support of Jefferson Hospital, Arden Courts, Life Care, Comfort Keepers, Paramount Senior Living and Paramount Hospice. Jim will ALWAYS be remembered for his infectious laugh!

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm and on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. On Saturday, May 11, 2019 there will be a prayer in the funeral home at 11 am followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in St. Thomas A’ Becket Catholic Church 139 Gill Hall Road Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025. Jim’s brother-in-law, Father Jim Froehlich, OFM Cap, and Father Dan Maurer will be Concelebrating at the Mass.

Jim will be entombed in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Peters Township, Pennsylvania following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America in memory of Jim.
