Funeral services for James Harty Hutchins, 76, will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery.

Mr. Hutchins died at his residence May 21, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Eureka, CA son of the late William and Shirley Lane Hutchins and lived in the Friendship Community for the past ten years. He was a member of the Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Viet Nam conflict.

Mr. Hutchins was a retired salesperson in the furniture industry. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Mary Nell Rodgers Hutchins, Friendship; sons, Jay Cary Hutchins, Kevin Lane Hutchins; daughter, Melanie Rose King, all of Friendship; brother, Bill Hutchins, sister Barbara Brazelton, both of Eugene, Oregon and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Emerson, Ronnie Emerson, Todd Starr, Larry Woods, Jerry Woods and Corey Hutchison.
